Moving On From Microbeads

Why these little plastic pellets have got to go

In the (hopefully not-too-distant) future, it will seem crazy to our kids and grandkids that we used to flush little pieces of plastic out into our oceans and lakes every time we washed our faces or brushed our teeth.

This past June, Illinois became the first state to ban plastic microbeads and now a few others are also considering it. Luckily some corporations are also voluntarily opting to phase them out, as there are plenty of good alternatives.

The fine folks at 5 Gyres are fighting the good fight here to turn the tide on this idiotic cosmetic and food additive as quickly as humanly possible. Help them out with this common sense effort by taking 30 seconds to move the needle on their petition. Oh - and you might as well stop using them too...
